How We Created a Complete Branding & Menu System for SKÅL in Antigua Guatemala

Bringing a Unique Restaurant Vision to Life

At Inspired24Seven, some of our favorite projects are the ones where a client has a strong vision and atmosphere in mind but needs help transforming that feeling into a polished visual identity.

That was exactly the case with SKÅL, a popular restaurant and bar in Antigua Guatemala known for its relaxed atmosphere, craft beers, cocktails, sports viewing, and unique Viking-inspired personality.

Located inside La Fuente, SKÅL has become a favorite spot for both expats and tourists looking for a different kind of dining experience in Antigua Guatemala.

Understanding the Client’s Vision

Owner Gary Lemus had a very specific feeling he wanted customers to experience when they interacted with the brand. While he knew the atmosphere he wanted to create, translating that into a complete visual system was the challenge.

After sitting down together, discussing ideas, and carefully taking notes on the mood, energy, and customer experience he envisioned, we developed a clear creative direction for the project.

The goal was to create something that felt:

  • bold

  • rustic

  • memorable

  • immersive

  • fun and welcoming

  • visually different from traditional restaurant branding

The Creative Process

This project went far beyond designing a single menu.

We created a complete promotional and menu system including:

  • food menus

  • drink menus

  • printed promotional materials

  • table-top promotions

  • branded marketing assets

  • cohesive visual styling across materials

The design direction combined rustic textures, Viking-inspired details, warm tones, dramatic typography, and high-impact food imagery to create a strong visual identity customers immediately remember.

Custom Restaurant Menu Design

One of the centerpieces of the project was the custom food menu design.

The menu was designed to feel immersive and theatrical while still remaining readable and functional for guests. Every detail, from typography to textures and layout, was created to reinforce the SKÅL atmosphere and personality.

Flexibility During the Process

As often happens in restaurant projects, menu items and pricing continued evolving throughout the design process.

Gary requested many updates and revisions as the restaurant refined its offerings in real time. We remained flexible and patient throughout the project to ensure the final product truly supported the business and reflected the restaurant accurately.

That collaborative approach helped create a final result that exceeded expectations.

Client Testimonial

“We needed a lot of changes and updates during the project while we were still adjusting menu items and details. The process was handled with patience and professionalism the entire way through. In the end, everything came together even better than we imagined and truly fits the SKÅL atmosphere and experience.”

Final Result

The final branding and menu system helped establish a cohesive visual identity that matches the unique atmosphere SKÅL is known for today.

Projects like this highlight how strong design is not only about aesthetics, it is about helping businesses create an experience customers remember.
