Grupo Culinario is a prestigious restaurant group in Guatemala City owned by Jake Denburg. The group includes several high-end concepts: Jake’s (sophisticated American/fine dining), J.K. Ming (modern Asian cuisine), and Jean Francois (classic French cuisine).
Project Overview
We were commissioned to design a complete family of websites for the Grupo Culinario portfolio. The main goal was to create elegant, image-focused websites that immediately convey the upscale dining experience and exceptional food each restaurant offers.
What we Delivered
Designed the main Grupo Culinario hub website as well as individual websites for Jake’s, J.K. Ming, and Jean Francois.
Focused heavily on high-quality photography of interiors, dishes, and ambiance so visitors could instantly visualize the premium dining experience.
Created clean, visually rich layouts optimized for showcasing menus and special events.
Built all sites in Flash (at the time) with rich animations and movement to make the experience more dynamic and luxurious.
Ensured each restaurant had its own distinct personality while maintaining a cohesive upscale brand feel across the group.
The websites effectively served as digital extensions of the restaurants, helping attract new guests by giving them a strong sense of the refined atmosphere and culinary excellence before they even made a reservation.

Rather than creating a traditional portfolio, we built an immersive experience that combines storytelling, artwork, process, and subtle animation to give visitors a deeper sense of the artist behind the paintings.
